The cost of living is increasing and new research by Consumer Focus has revealed that many households are concerned about the impact rising utility costs will have on their heating bills.
According to the study, forty percent of households are worried that they won’t be able to afford their winter heating bills, whilst seven out of ten – which equates to around six million families – plan to cut back on their heating usage.
Park home living can be much more cost-effective than maintaining a bricks and mortar property, however if you’re worried about bills there are plenty of things you can do to reduce your heating needs.
For instance, check that all your windows and door seals are in good condition as cracks can let in cooling drafts. It might also be worth investing in a curtain and a draft excluder for any exterior doors.
As for longer term solutions, adding a brick skirt to your park home can make a huge difference to your floor temperature, as can investing in good quality carpet with a thick underlay.
You may also want to think about investing in new wall or roof insulation if heating is a major problem in your park home.
